Time to Personalize Your Space

Does your room represent you? Home décor may seem like the reserve of the rich and famous, but really it is just a matter of putting your unique stamp on your world.

You don't need to repaint or invest a lot of money. With just a few easy touches you can bring color, style, and creativity to your space and make a statement that screams "you!"

Pillow Perfect

Start off with color-coordinated cushions. You don't even need to make them from scratch—you can get some remnants of fabric (much less expensive than buying by the yard) and sew squares together, cover old cushions and liven up your room with your favorite colours. And if you feel like really demonstrating your style, you can sew trimming around the edge for extra texture.

Make "Time" Your Own

What about the walls? Why not make a clock from your favorite magazine, book, or photograph? Follow these easy steps to make a clock that doesn't just tell the time, but tells everyone who you are.

  1. Carefully cut out a picture or magazine cover and mount it on foam core.
  2. Buy a clock from a discount store and take it apart. All you need are the hands and the battery pack on the back.
  3. Measure to find the centre spot on the picture and cut a small hole.
  4. Place the clock hands on the front of the picture and screw the battery pack on the back.

That's it. You're done. You have made a clock and it has your stamp on it. Now all you have to do is hang it on the wall or find a spot on your shelves where everyone can see how creative you are.
