Get Out of that Slump

Caught in a slump where you just can't get out of bed in the morning? Well here's some food for thought. Eat right and boost your energy level. That means more time to hit the mall, shop, and have fun! Just making a few simple changes to your daily routine can make you jump out of bed and seize the day!

Energy Boosters

  1. Don't lose the carbs! Contrary to what some fad diets may say, studies show that you need some carbs to help burn fat.


  2. Don't skip meals. When you skip a meal your body goes into starvation mode and next time you eat, your body will store the excess fat.


  3. Eat five to six mini-meals during the day. Eating small meals every 3-4 hours actually speeds up your metabolism.


  4. Try to eat fresh foods. Lose the processed foods; they are harder to digest. Try healthy fresh foods like vegetables, beans, rice, potatoes, and fruits.


  5. Water, water, water. Yup you've heard it over and over again. Try to drink at least eight glasses of water a day. It will help fill you up and it's great for your skin!

  1. Couch Potato = Weight Gain. Unplug the TV and get moving. Hit the kitchen and fire up the grill. Learn some quick healthy meals and throw a dinner party for your friends.


  2. Sugar Overload. Sugar and most packaged foods rob the bones of calcium. So think fresh—it's better for your body.


  3. Supersize Me—NOT! High fat foods will make you feel stuffed quicker.


  4. Bye, doughnuts—hi crispy greens! Think color. The more colorful the vegetables and fruits, the more nutrients, which means stronger nails and better hair.
