Love

I look at me
Then I look at you
Why am I so into you
I have feelings for you
That I haven't felt before
It feels as though
I am opening
A brand new door
I want to be there for you
The good times, the blue
What I am saying is that
I love you

Penniless

By Emily, 15, Washington, D.C.

I used to have a pile of pennies that represented me.
They were my good thoughts, my hopes, and my dreams.
But one day a friend was sad and I said I was too busy to help and a penny disappeared.
Then I lied and cheated.
Two more pennies vanished.
Then I pitied myself and called myself ugly and I yelled and drove loved ones away.
Only one penny remained.
Then I gave my last penny in the form of a compliment to my friend.
She paid me hundreds of dollars in the form of her friendship.
Now I'm the richest girl in the world.
