Finding Balance
Let's Get REAL About BEAUTY
By Rande Bynum, staff writer
Hey–you know you are beautiful, talented, and unique so check out The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty Photography and Essay Contest and let the world know.
For the last three years, Girl Scouts has teamed up with Unilever and Dove to bring you uniquely ME! Now Dove wants you to know that real beauty comes in many shapes, sizes, colors, and ages. They know you know that beauty is more than the people we see on television, in movies, or magazines. Dove is taking on the challenge of redefining beauty and wants you to share with your words and a photo of what YOU think is beautiful.
Three Easy Steps to Enter
Check out the C4RB Web site at www.c4rb.com/photocontest for all the official contest rules and information. Here is a quick look:
- Take an original photo of a beautiful female in your life.
You know you are surrounded by beautiful women. It could be your best friend's silly smile or your kid sister's wild and curly hair. Or maybe it is the way your mom's strength shines through in everything she does. The photo could be a group of women too!
- Write about her in 100 words or fewer
Only you can say why you think this woman is beautiful. Write an essay that makes the judges love her as much as you do. Share a funny story or an important moment. What makes her stand out? How does she redefine beauty? If your photo is of more than one woman, make sure you mention all of them.
- Send in the photo and essay with the entry form
Share your vision of redefined beauty by sending everything on time. How will they know what you think if you don't send it in?
Quick Tips

Contest is for girls 11-17 and runs from March 8-May 16, 2005.
