Question
Dear Dr. M & Liz,
I am a junior in high school and I have never been kissed by a boy, and I have never even had a boyfriend. I don't really feel desperate about it like many of my friends, but I just feel like something is wrong with me. What I mean is that I don't feel like I absolutely need to have a boyfriend, but I do want to have at least some guy experience before college. Can you help me please?
—Bridge, 17, Illinois

Advice
Dear Bridge,
First, let me tell you that it's good to hear you say that you're not desperate. There is no reason to feel desperate since girls start having boyfriends at different ages. You say that you want to have some guy experience before college. That doesn't have to mean having a boyfriend. Hanging out with boys and talking to them will help you feel more comfortable so you'll be ready to go out with them when the time is right for you, which might be in college or maybe next year.
—Dr. M

Dear Bridge,
If you don't think you need a boyfriend, then there's no reason to feel like something is wrong with you. Plus, you still have the rest of your junior year and all of senior year for something to happen. Just be patient and keep an open mind.
—Liz
