December 1 is World AIDS Day
HIV/AIDS is a devastating disease that has ravaged communities, killed more than 40 million people, and left 15 million children orphaned.
On World AIDS Day, we share messages of hope, compassion and understanding about AIDS and highlight the seriousness of the epidemic while remembering those who have died from AIDS.
"Leadership" is the theme for World AIDS Day. Strong, committed leadership is essential to reversing the deadly effects of HIV/AIDS. Leaders are often not those in the highest offices. Leadership is demonstrated at every level - in families, in communities and internationally.
