The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is the nation’s leading hands-on space science museum. Since 1982, the center has fostered national and international outreach programs for young people and adults through the SPACE CAMP®, SPACE ACADEMY® (1984), ADVANCED SPACE ACADEMY® (1997) and AVIATION CHALLENGE® (1990) programs.
SPACE CAMP and AVIATION CHALLENGE, located in Huntsville, Alabama, use space and aviation as a platform to excite and educate children, ages 9 through 18, in the fields of math, science, and technology. Both program range from 3-13 days and work to achieve teamwork, self-confidence, and communication. In the programs students exploring careers in the space and aviation industries is as easy as putting on a flight suit. Supported by teammates and staff, attendees get to discover future roles in various career paths as they participate in the scenario driven programs.
